The second Eco trail event within the Green Trails of Future project was held in Ohrid, North Macedonia on May 23 and 25, 2024 as part of the Ohrid Ultra Trail race.
ECO WORKSHOP
On the first day May 23, educational workshops on environmental topics were held in cooperation with educators from the Galičica National Park.
The activities took place in nature in the surroundings of Ohrid and Galičica National Park at the Educational trail “Galichica na dlanka”. The teenagers and kids have the chance to participate in workshops on the natural values of the Ohrid and Prespa lakes and Galičica mountain and to learn about the flora and fauna of this region in a fun and playful way. Also, the importance of environmental protection was strongly highlighted.
TRAIL RUNNING EVENT
On the second day May 25, in addition to trail races for adults, race for juniors (13-18 years) were held:
– 10 km 250m D+
The start of the race was in Velgošti and the finish of race was at the town square in Ohrid.
All race participants received appropriate prizes as part of the start packages (medals, T-shirts, water bottles).
