The third Eco Trail event within the Green Trails of the Future project was held in Baja Bašta, Tara National Park, Serbia, on July 5 and 6, 2024, as part of the Tara Ultra Trail race.
ECO WORKSHOP
Educational workshops with the aim of getting to know the basic values ??of the protected area and ecological problems were organized in cooperation with educators from Tara National Park.
On the first day, July 5, a workshop was held for adolescents (12 years and older), and the activities took place in nature in the area of ??Kaludjerske Bare in Tara National Park.
On the second day, on July 6, after the children’s race, a workshop was held for younger children (under 12 years old), and the activities were organized in the yard of the Elementary School “St. Sava” in Bajina Bašta.
Teenagers and younger children had the opportunity to learn about the basic values ??and phenomena of Tara National Park and the rules of staying and behaving in nature in a fun and interactive way through various games and activities. Also, the importance of environmental protection was strongly emphasized.
TRAIL RACE
On the second day, July 6, in addition to trail races for adults, 2 races for children and teenagers were held:
– TUT 12 – Green trails of future (12-18 years) – 13km 650D+
– TUTIC – TUT kids (children up to 12 years old) – 700m 50D+
The start of the race TUT 12 – Green trails of future was near the Ra?a monastery, and the finish line was in the yard of the elementary school “St. Sava” in Baja Bašta. Medals and prizes were awarded to the best, and all participants received finisher medals.
The start and finish of the TUTIC – TUT kids race was in the yard of the elementary school “St. Sava” in Baja Bašta. In this category, there was no announcement of a winner?, all children received finisher medals.
All race participants received gifts as part of the start packages (medals, t-shirts, water bottles, gifts from sponsors).
Also, other free animations for children and adolescents are organized in the finish area, such as: archery, disc golf, mini zip-line, fun athletics and mountaineering workshops.
About 170 children participated in both races.
